Afternoon tea

On Tuesday 20^th of January my class and I went to the staffroom for afternoon tea. Teacher boiled the kettle and made the tea and the teacher assistants gave out some cups. Then whoever takes sugar in their tea came over and took some sugar after that we went up to teacher and teacher poured the tea into the cups, we poured milk into the cups. Next we got napkins to put some food on. Then teacher gave out cucumber sandwiches and everyone tried them. Teacher gave out scones, they were delicious then we got muffins.  Teacher had some spare cucumbers and some of the class ate them. When we were finished we went home.

Measuring in Maths

On Tuesday we did maths. The topic was Length. It was fun and we got to measure stuff .We even got to measure our teacher. The things that helped us measure were the ruler, meter stick and a trundle wheel. Everyone had partners to help them measure things .We did our teacher’s desk, the board etc. We even got to do cars and the yard. We only had one trundle wheel, a few meter sticks and all of us had our own rulers. It was great fun. I hope we do it again.

Drama in St Clares

We all do drama on Mondays after school till 4.30pm.We all have a part in the play. The play is called Cinderella and the Cavanfella. Everyone loves doing it. One girl in our class is Cinderella. We recorded the whole play on January 15^th 2015. Sometimes we practice on Thursdays too. All the parents will see it before the midterm break in February.

The main characters are Cinderella, Skittles, The Ugly Sisters and Cavanfella. The meanest character in the play is Fairly Bossyboots and her cat Naughty Kitty. The nicest characters are Cinderella, The Fairybrigade, Skittles and his dog Buster to . The two teachers that help us in rehearsals are Ms.Byrne  and Mr. Mcguinnes.

We all made our own costumes for example Cinderella`s raggy dress is blue with an apron and raggy socks and her ballroom dress is cream with a bow on the front and back and she has lovely, gold high heels. Skittles on the other hand has a green and yellow clown suit  that has a fat ring inside to make it look like he has a fat belly  and his dog Buster  has white paws and black belly and legs and he`s a husky. Fairly Bossyboots has a dress  that is black with an orange fire on the front and on her back she has black wings. The fairybrigade have luminous dresses and different coloured wellies and accessories. Cavanfella wears a suit that’s black and a shirt that’s white and also a baseball cap that’s navy and luminous yellow.

 I know that all the parents and grandparents that have a daughter or granddaughter in the play would love the play Cinderella and the Cavanfella.

Rehearsals are well and truly underway for St Clare's up and coming musical Cinderella CavanFella. Today students from Cavan Institute came to the school to film parts of the musical. There was lots of laughter and excitement around the school!
